
This global campaign is based on the two previously focused on disaster risk reduction begins at school (2006-07) and hospital insurance (2008-09).
The purpose of this campaign is to educate leaders of cities and local governments to commit to complete a checklist of 10 basic aspects Resilient cities to develop and to support local actors, networks and popular national authorities.
As part of this campaign, also launched the initiative for having 1 million safe schools and hospitals worldwide.

Through this initiative seeks to encourage the participation of schools, hospitals, individuals, families, communities, organizations, businesses and any organization that can commit to a school or hospital to make them safer.
