
The workshop was held at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences (CCAA) of the Universidad Nacional Santiago Antúnez de Mayolo (UNASAM) institution that is responsible for coordinating GRIDE Ancash. The workshop included members representing: the UNASAM, the Red Cross, Catholic University Los Angeles de Chimbote, the INRENA glaciology unit, the Regional Agrarian MINAG, World Vision, Youth Network for Risk Management (GR) and Climate Change (CC), the management of RR.NN Regional Government, Health Forum, Network of Environmental University (RUA), etc.
opened the event Dr. Luis Palomino GRIDE coordinator Ancash and Dean of the Faculty of CCAA recalling about risks facing the region and the importance of taking into account natural hazards such as landslides or earthquakes, all within a DC context in which projects will have greater security problems food and energy among others. Against this backdrop the Ancash GRIDE proposed placing the issue of GR in the regional agenda calling for candidates in the upcoming elections of regional government, including GR approach in participatory budgeting (PB), compromising the education sector, etc. Finally stressed the importance of stop thinking about short-term interests to think about the interests of future generations. Then
included presentations on the progress of national policies and ACC GR, GR Guide to local development planning developed by the MCLCP, the outlook for national GRID and advances in the management of GRIDE Ancash.
As the final part of the workshop was held GRIDE Work Plan for 2010 Ancash.
priority action areas and key activities were agreed: a.
formalization of the GRID,
b. dissemination and training: a video editing on the potential risks in vulnerable populations led to educational institutions,
c. advocacy, advice on the preparation projects with a focus on PP GR funded, participation in the regional strategy of ACC
d. Prevention: formation and training of volunteers preventionists
